27 dresses for Rumah Faith :)
A LOT A LOT superALOT of pictures (is 60 pictures a lot?) that if you're busybody enough you want to wait and see, then i suggest that you leave this page alone for awhile and come back later ;)
more pictures here! click!
27 Dresses is a story about Jane, who has been a selfless bridesmaid (27 times!) for all her life and has never thought for herself before, even when her sister was going to marry the man Jane loved.
Uth.com.my had this online competition to win some merchandises and tickets to watch 27 dresses. i hadn't watch the movie then, and sent in the entry for the fun of it, since i was bored anyway.
If you have 27 dresses, how do you make use of them to get what you want?
(In less than 50 words)
maybe it's because i watch a lot of pageants, hahahaha. but i answered saying
“I would definitely bring all of the dresses to the orphanage and let 27 girls feel beautiful, feel glamorous for once- that would no doubt make me feel 27 times happier than wearing the 27 dresses on myself.”
However, Uth decided to take a step further, and organized this whole orphanage thing! They decided to make my dream come true by getting sponsors for the girls' 27 dresses, bring them for a movie and lunch.
it really wasn't easy to put everything in proper coordination, especially when some sponsors pulled out, and there were so many other complications. the planning wasn't as smooth sailing as i thought it would be, there were miscommunication/misunderstanding going on and the process wasn't easy at all...
every single effort paid off though.
I want to specially thank Lisa who organized almost everything, who had so many sleepless nights, who bought the dresses for the girls and went through quite a rough time sending the clothes to them. She's the founder of MANJA studio, a charity organization which sponsored the dresses and their transportation to 1Utama. She's got a heart of gold and i'm sure everyone loves her!

Lisa and I
Would also like to thank the Uth Crew for organizing this. :D :D :D :D without u this won't happen! hehehe.
Thanks to the ever generous Pn.Aziah for providing us lunch at Shakey's Pizza. =)

Ma and Pn.Aziah :)
Thanksssss TGV Cinemas for letting us have one whole movie hall to ourselves, for the free popcorn (yay!) and the free coke :)
Thank you Miss Catherine, for putting up with all my annoying calls :D and Aunt Indrah and Mr. Victor and the rest of the caretakers of rumah faith. =)
Thanks to Mum, and my first aunt for being concerned over this whole orphange event. =)
and of course a SUPER HUGE THANK YOU to the wonderful wonderful children of Rumah Faith, you've made me realized things i never did, gave me a spectacular time, and memories i doubt i'd ever forget. ;)

Phew. now that i think i'm done thanking everybody, i shall floood you all with a lot of pictures. it's all from my camera, and my camera doesn't have anti-shake feature omg, and the person who took the photos doesn't have steady hands ahemmumahem, so please bear with blur pictures. i ought to get the rest from Lisa but i guess that'd be later. and since i've promised the children that i'd send them ALL the pictures, and i think that this is the best way for me to "send" them the pictures, so i posted all of them here. =p

i was soooo excited when they first came, waiting patiently by the escalator. they're all very disciplined, each bigger child will hold a smaller kid's hands, so they basically came in pairs :P

Lining up for the free popcorn and drinks :)

Medium popcorn and coke ;)

Pn.Aziah and the little boys.

Uth Crew, Elbrine giving out the dresses outside the cinema hall.

in the cinema hall, before the fashion show.
did i mention? that the girls were supposed to parade the dresses (like a mini fashion show hehehe) in the cinema hall itself, and they were very sporting :) they had to wear a tshirt inside their dresses because apparently it's a bit skimpy worr, DON'T LAUGH, but thank goodness the fashion show was still on =D

so called hosting the event :$

the 20 girls parading 20 dresses, since 7 girls had something else on!

the rest of the dresses to AuntIndrah to give to the rest of the girls.
ok this is where all the camwhoring starts. FORGIVE ME. i think the children are better in taking pictures than I am myself. wooo!

Pn. Aziah's daughter :)

omg the food from Shakey's took SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long to arrive!

Asweni who fell down and injured her hand, she's gonna remove her bandage tomorrow! :) hope everything's good. hehe.

even boys can camwhore pretty well. such dreamy eyes!
it was a whole different feeling seeing them. i've learnt a lot from them, they look at things the optimistic way, they seemed so united, and it was an honour being with them.

they even dedicated a song to us! after the meal. omg so touched i can cry.
i really wanted this to last longer, but good things do come to an end, what can i do? we held hands on our way from shakey's to the bus and it was a very comfortable feeling :p
